Future Indefinite Tense

The future tense is a verb tense that describes an action that is to happen after the time of speaking.
According to the Collins Dictionary, the 'future tense' is defined as “a tense of verbs used when the action or event described is to occur after the time of utterance. It is used to show the future action that has not taken place yet. Future tense is formed by using the first form of verb along with shall/will. Shall is used with first person (I, we) and will is used with all other persons (you, he/she, it). Future tense can also be detected by time order words for example
Ø  Tomorrow,
Ø  In future (year, month, week)
Ø  On (future day)
Ø  Next (month, week, year, name of day)
Ø  Someday
Ø  Coming days

How to form the simple future Tense

Subject + shall/will + first form of verb.
Ø  They will play cricket.
Ø  He will drink water.
Ø  She will like Mangoes.
Ø  The plane will arrive at 9 o'clock tomorrow.
Ø  I shall go to market.

Negative Form

To create a negative future sentence
Simply use “Not” with will/shall.
Ø  They will not play cricket.
Ø  She will not like Mangoes.
Ø  The plane will not arrive at 9 o'clock tomorrow.
 

Interrogative Form

To create the interrogative sentence following formula is used.
“Will/shall” + subject + first form of verb
Ø  Will they play cricket?
Ø  Will she like Mangoes?
Ø  Shall I go to market?
If the question words are used then following formula is utilized.
Ø  Where will they play cricket?
Ø  Why will he drink juice?                                                       
 

Examples of Simple Future Tense, Negative and Interrogative Form

Ø  I shall go to school.
Ø  I shall not go to school.
Ø  Shall I go to school?
 
Ø  They will play cricket.
Ø  They will not play cricket.
Ø  Will they play cricket?
 
Ø  We shall go to market.
Ø  We shall not go to market.
Ø  Shall we go to market?
 
Ø  You will run fast.
Ø  You will not run fast.
Ø  Will you run fast?
 
Ø  He will drink water.
Ø  He will not drink water.
Ø  Will he drink water?
 
Ø  She will eat Apple.
Ø  She will not eat Apple.
Ø  Will she eat Apple?
